The Bucharest Christmas Market 2025 brings the most new features of the past few years.

The Bucharest Christmas Market returns to Constitution Square starting tomorrow, November 29, with its most spectacular edition yet. Beyond the already traditional wooden stalls, the panoramic Ferris wheel, craftsmen, and visual artists, this year’s 18th edition introduces a series of new elements that transform the event into a fully immersive experience for visitors. The scenography of the Bucharest Christmas Market is designed by set designer Dragoș Buhagiar, with Vladimir Iuganu as assistant set designer.

 

National premieres and unique attractions in Romania

 

One of the most important highlights of the 2025 edition is Romania’s first-ever Christmas Pyramid — a structure 10 meters high and 7 meters in diameter, decorated with figurines and traditional winter symbols, similar to those found at major Christmas markets in Germany, Austria, and France. The pyramid slowly rotates, offering visitors a spectacular visual experience and becoming the central landmark of the festive area.

Also making its debut, the Palace of Parliament will be illuminated every evening with dedicated festive projections — a striking visual transformation that brings the magic of Christmas to one of Bucharest’s most iconic buildings.

 

The Lantern Stage – a new concept for young audiences

 

Following the success of DJ set areas in previous years, the 2025 edition introduces the Lantern Stage, a modern space created especially for younger generations. Here, DJs will play the season’s most popular remixes in an urban, energetic atmosphere — a completely fresh experience within the Christmas market. The Lantern Stage will quickly become a favorite meet-up point for young people, where music, social interaction, and energy blend seamlessly

 

New attractions for children and families

 

The children’s area is significantly expanded this year, featuring several attractions presented for the first time at the Bucharest Christmas Market:

  • Venetian Carousel, with a classic design and premium decorative elements;

  • Santa’s Express, a themed mini roller coaster;

  • Flying Sleigh, an interactive experience for children;

  • The Ornament Box, a new game-concept filled with visual surprises;

  • Interactive elves and new plush games in the Instagram-worthy area.

 

New décor and a reimagined visual atmosphere

 

The 2025 edition brings major changes in terms of decoration:

  • A completely new canopy of lights covering Constitution Square, designed to create spectacular, unforgettable visual experiences;

  • Over 120 upgraded wooden chalets, redecorated with new luminous motifs, stars, and special graphic elements;

  • A new series of festive projections placed throughout the main areas of the market, including on the facades of themed zones.

 

Culinary and craftsmanship experiences in new formats

 

This year, the artisan and local producers’ area is further enhanced through:

  • A greater number of stands featuring live craft demonstrations;

  • The presence of three creators awarded the “Living Human Treasure” title, showcasing rare traditional techniques.

 

A cherished memory – your photo with Santa Claus

 

Christmas magic brings a special surprise this year as well: between December 13 and 24, at Santa’s House in Constitution Square, visitors can capture a timeless memory — each guest receives a complimentary instant photo with Santa Claus.

 

The 2025 edition: more magic, more light, more premieres

 

The Bucharest Christmas Market runs from November 29 to December 28, offering visitors a modernized concept filled with new elements and unique experiences, while staying true to the traditions that made this event iconic.
